If you have the option to drive to Mississippi, please do. Flying into this airport is easy, but flying out is a serious challenge. The airport is super small, but goodness……they have some simple-minded processes and procedures here. Everyone at a check-in counter is available to help because it’s slow. So that’s a good thing. Once you leave them, you have to walk to one side of the airport to go through security then be escorted by security to the other side of the airport; where you initially started out. They walk you in a line like a bunch of kindergartners and tell you not to talk to anyone or you’ll have to start this ridiculous over again . Finding an outlet is like playing g where’s Waldo, then they don’t work. But luckily there is this one lonely little desk that says charging station sitting against a wall. This has to be the worst small airport I have been in and I have been in airports where you load the plane from the tarmac. Just prepare yourself for some foolishness if you have to fly in or out of this airport.

This airport sucks. Sure it has a fast TSA checkpoint, but to get where? A small terminal with minimal basic amenities? Try not to get here too early, nothing is open and nothing to do.

Very easy and convenient airport to fly in and out of. Parking is easy and close. Security is efficient and quick. Employees are friendly.

I'm generously giving this place a 3. It gets you to and from locations smoothly, so it doesn't deserve a 2. However, if you have other options, I advise using another airport.

Here's why I don't like this airport (note these are my personal experiences and preferences):

1. Bad customer service: Most staff are either indifferent or rude. One incident stood out: at TSA check-in, an older man asked a 9-year-old girl if she was married or had a boyfriend, making her and her mom uncomfortable. This behavior was unacceptable and reflects poorly on the airport.

2. Depressing atmosphere: The airport is drab with neutral tones. A bit of decor, like a fake plant, could improve the ambiance. If aesthetics don’t matter to you, this might not be a concern.

3. Gift shop issues: The gift shop has no bags for purchases, many items lack price tags, and they don’t accept cash.

While some complaints are superficial, the poor customer service, especially the behavior of that one staff member, is the main issue. If you can avoid this airport, do so.

I travel for a living, and most of the time when I see a small airport I'm happy, because that means simplicity, friendly staff, and good vibes all around. Not here. Both the up and down escalators are broken, you will be herded through the single security checkpoint at the rate of one person every 3 minutes, where you will experience unmitigated authority fused with bad attitudes from the TSA staff, half of which are standing around in the passengers' way. If you step the wrong way at this checkpoint, you will be talked down to like a child. The agent that went through my bag rudely told me to "Get back over here" as he was ruffling through my papers and books, (There were 2 agents catching up on old times in the way of exactly where he wanted me to stand as he flipped through my book) and then simply stuffed it all back in wadded and wrinkled.
Very few dining options, looks like they gave up updating this airport in the 90s, and are funneling that money into TSA agents that do nothing.

This airport is an embarrassing blight on Mississippi.

Not much change in this airport. Less and less dining options so you better eat something before you check in. The bathroom and lobby are clean and that's the most important.
I wish visitors could see the gates and runway. The current layout blocking all the views and they have history exhibits that no one visits also block the view outside.

I’ve flown out of this airport for over a year and the escalator leading up to ticketing has been broken for an entire year. Southwest staff is extremely rude for no reason. I did not just pay thousands of dollars to be talked to like your child. Sadly this is the only airport in the area and this is evident by the lack of care of the workers.
